The Omni Group has posted a new public beta version of OmniWeb 4.2, their Cocoa-based Web browser. The new version gains new features and incorporates fixes too.

Changes to OmniWeb 4.2 beta 2 include support for Macromedia Shockwave Player and the PDF Browser plug-in available from Schubert it. A new feature for Jaguar users enables them to see the URL of a downloaded file in its comment field. OmniWeb also supports images with embedded ColorSync profiles, and AppleScript support has been improved.
In addition, OmniWeb 4.2 beta 2 fixes a problem that had some pages rendering blank, and also addresses a problem that The Omni Group said was responsible for more than half of the crash reports received for the last beta version.
