An arcade-style sports game aimed at ages seven and up, Backyard Soccer 2004 features kid-sized versions of popular Major League Soccer (MLS) stars like Clint Mathis from the New York MetroStars, Bobby Convey, Landon Donovan and Brian McBride, Carlos Valderrama and more — as well as three top USA women’s players, Brandi Chastain, Tiffeny Milbrett and Briana Scurry.
The game also feature 30 “Backyard Kids” — constant companions in any Backyard Sports game, designed to be inclusive of children from different cultural backgrounds, physical types, skin colors and more. Each kid exhibits a different personality and has different strengths that make them right for your team.
Kids can choose to play as one of the ten MLS teams, or they can create their own team with a custom name and a custom-designed uniform. Kids can pick from 24 different fields to play on and go for a single game or an entire season. They can also play pick-up games in the practice area, trying out penalty kicks as a kicker or goalie.
Backyard Soccer 2004 calls for Mac OS 8.1 or higher. Infogrames confirmed that this game will operate in Mac OS X in “Classic” mode only.
