Medal of Honor: Allied Assault puts you in the role Lt. Mike Powell, a member of the 1st Ranger Battalion. You’re on the beach at Normandy, the assault at Arzew, and other recreations of historic World War II battles in this first person shooter, which uses Id Software’s popular Quake III Arena engine technology to power its graphics.
In addition to support for SMP, the new version of Medal of Honor supports Full-Scene Anti-Aliasing (FSAA), improves the sound library to fix problems, including a compatibility issue with dual CPU computers. A problem where Mac MOHAA servers weren’t listed in the GameSpy browser has also been fixed.
Visit Macgamefiles.com for links to the 1.13 update. It measures about 2.5MB and requires the full version of the game.
In related news, Aspyr Media continues development of Medal of Honor: Spearhead, an expansion pack for the original game that adds additional missions, new multiplayer levels and modes, new weapons, and more. The Mac conversion of the expansion pack recently reached its Beta milestone and is projected for a release in May.
