Running on a Toshiba Magnia SG20 Wireless Mobility server, New Millennium’s system includes FileMaker Server Administrator, an HTML front-end that can be used to configure and administer FileMaker Server itself. New Millennium has also integrated its own security and system administration software.
New Millennium said that it’s developed the FileMaker Server System as a turnkey solution by collaborating with both Toshiba and FileMaker engineers. The Toshiba Magnia SG20 itself utilizes the Red Hat Linux operating system to function. It integrates Wi-Fi wireless networking communications — known to Mac users as AirPort — and can operate either as a multi-purpose FileMaker server or as a primary network server.
The FileMaker Server System includes a five-user license for SecureFM, which provides data protection, along with Password Administrator and Plugin Manager — a system for managing the versions and license registration functions of FileMaker plug-ins.
New Millennium is offering the FileMaker Server System for an introductory price of US$1,895, with multi-user bundles available as an option as well.
