iMovie 3.0.2 is the latest version of Apple’s popular digital video editing software aimed at consumers. It’s a cornerstone application in Apple’s iLife suite, and it’s included on all shipping Macs. The software provides a way for users of DV-equipped camcorders to input their digital video on FireWire-equipped Macs and edit the footage, add transitions, sound effects and special visual effects too. The software was recently updated to provide better hooks to other iLife applications: iPhoto, iTunes and iDVD.
iMovie 3.0.2 requires Mac OS X 10.1.5 or later; a G3/400 or faster; 256MB RAM; 2GB hard disk space; a Mac with built-in FireWire; 1024 x 768 resolution, and QuickTime 6.1 or higher.
The 81.8MB download available from Apple’s Web site has been localized in 16 languages. The iMovie Web site also includes a link to this download, as well as a link to the iMovie 3.0.2 update. If you already have iMovie 3.0.x installed and you’d like to update to the latest version, use that link instead — it’s less than 2MB.
