Most applications, including Photoshop, use bilinear or bicubic interpolation for image resizing. According to Human Software, these two interpolation methods have limits in the amount of resizing you may achieve; for instance, above 200 percent upsizing may result in jagged and blurry stair-step effects. XFile is designed to go beyond bicubic interpolation and use more advanced resizing techniques and advanced interpolation methods such as Lanczos mathematical algorithms and Human Software’s own proprietary technique.
XFile works with Photoshop 5.5-7.x and Photoshop Elements 1 or 2. It costs US$49.95
