Alexander Wilson Studios has released AudioBookMaker 2.0, a new version of its utility to turn text files into audio. Designed for Mac OS X 10.2, “Jaguar,” the new version sports new features.

AudioBookMaker’s audio files can be dragged into iTunes, used for multimedia, and more, according to the developer. The software enables you to choose from any of the built-in 22 voices that Jaguar users for text-to-speech. It also supports drag and drop or cut and paste. You can type directly into the program, too.
Version 2 adds words-per-minute control, and offers user control of preview length and how numbers are read.
Registration costs US$2.50 through Amazon.com’s Honor System Payments feature. Upgrades for registered 1.x users cost $1.50.
