Altair Engineering Inc. has updated PBS Pro to version 5.3. The product helps users — typically enterprise customers in the life sciences, energy, research, logistics, manufacturing, and financial industries — expand the distribution of production workloads across wide-area networks.

PBS (portable batch system) Pro provides a graphical interface for submitting both batch and interactive jobs, querying job, queue, and system status, and tracking the progress of jobs. With it, users can specify the priority of their jobs, and defaults can be provided at both the queue and system level. Originally developed to manage aerospace computing resources at the NASA Ames Research Center, PSB Pro is designed to tackle workload management across complex networks with the goal of optimizing hardware and software utilization.
Version 5.3 of PBS (Portable Batch System) adds support for Mac OS X. Details on the pricing structure can be found at the Altair Web site.
