Mathematica developer Wolfram Research has released Control System Professional Suite, which consists of the new Control System Professional 2 and Advanced Numerical Methods. Targeted to professionals, researchers, educators, and students, the suite is an extensible framework of integrated Mathematica application packages that offers an object-oriented environment for solving common control problems.

Mathematica is Wolfram’s calculation and math visualization tool. The Control System Professional Suite is designed for use with Mathematica 4 or later and is available Mac OS X and Mac OS 8.6-9.x.
The core of the suite is Control System Professional 2, which sports over 150 functions that let users link built-in control objects together to model their own problems. The second component is Advanced Numerical Methods, which offers a variety of algorithms for each problem, enabling expert users to choose the most appropriate tool for a given task.
Both Control System Professional 2 and Advanced Numerical Methods can be purchased from Wolfram Research either as individual application packages or as part of the Control System Professional Suite; however, Advanced Numerical Methods requires Control System Professional 2, which costs US $995.
