Mac parts sales and repair service MacResQ has announced the launch of a new nationwide repair service aimed at Power Mac and iMac users called PowerMacResQ. Modeled after MacResQ’s PowerBookResQ program, the service provides 24-hour repair service on desktop Macs.

Customers visit the Web site or call 866.MAC.REPAIR to arrange for the service. MacResQ then dispatches a “PowerBox” shipping container via overnight courier. You then pack your Power Mac or iMac in the PowerBox, and attach the pre-printed shipping label. Call a toll-free number and get the package back on its way. MacResQ technicians then diagnose the problem and provide a detailed repair estimate; the repair is completed within one business day and sent back via overnight courier.
The cost to use PowerMacResQ is US$129 — that covers the 3-way overnight shipping, the initial diagnosis, and the PowerBox, which you can keep if you think you’ll need it again.
