DoubleTalk and DAVE are both designed around similar concepts — they provide Mac users with easy access to Windows-centric networks from their Macintoshes. Thursby has continued to develop DAVE for Mac OS X, while Connectix hasn’t migrated DoubleTalk.
“This will allow DoubleTalk users the ability to migrate to Mac OS X. And for those customers still on earlier versions of the Mac OS, DAVE will add the capability for the PC to see the files on the Macintosh,” said Thursby President George Colley.
DAVE supports NT Domain login, and enables users to share files and printers between Macs and PCs. It also supports Windows standard browsing, offers three security options, supports the Microsoft NTFS file format, and much more.
DAVE 4.0 supports Mac OS 8.6 – 9.2, and Mac OS X 10.1.5 – 10.2. DAVE normally carries a suggested retail price of US$149, but as part of this offer, DoubleTalk users can get the software for $99 instead. Visit the Thursby Web site for more details or call 817.478.5070 to order.
