Fast’s TV-Server TVS 200-N is a network-capable, hard-disk TV recorder that lets television programs be transferred to a Mac or PC for archive or editing, according to Macworld UK. Other media files — including iTunes MP3s and iPhotos — can also be selected and played on the TV. You can use Fast’s TV-listings service to schedule television viewing and recording in advance.
The TVS 200-N can purportedly record up to 200 hours of programming to its 160GB hard drive. And it supports 100MB Ethernet for installation on a home network. This means seamless exchange of data with the Mac, according to Macworld UK.
At CeBIT Fast also introduced the FAST Media Player 100-N, a network-capable player that works with the TVS 200-N to allow films, photos, or music stored on a Mac be chosen, viewed, or listened to using a TV. It supports such media formats as MP3, JPEG, and MPEG-4, 2, or 1.
More info on the products can be found at the German-language Fast TV Server Web site.
