In a clever play on words, Mac-centric rack mount equipment maker Marathon Computer today introduced its Clearance Rack, a special Web page dedicated to inventory reduction clearance items. The spot gives folks a chance to pick up Marathon gear cheaper than they could otherwise.

The Clearance Rack includes items offered at reduced prices including discontinued models, overstock on current products and items that have been used as product demos. Discounts range from 25 to 50 percent off the full retail price of the gear.
Items currently in the Clearance Rack include “G-Rack” rackmount kits for G3 and G4 systems; G-Rack fascias and bezels; rackmount conversion kits for iMacs (both slot-loading and tray-loading configurations); the PowerRack rack mount conversion system for Power Mac 9600s, and other items.
The Web page indicates how many units there are left in stock and how much of a discount off retail you’re getting, along with “Buy It Now” links to grab the selected items from Marathon’s e-commerce site.
