NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display of America Inc. has announced the LCD1980SX, a new 19 inch flat-panel display aimed at professionals.
The new monitor features a DVI-I connector and the ability to work up to 326 feet away from the host computer (with optional cables). It features 25ms response time. The monitor also features automatic black level adjustment — important for greyscale images — and “AutoBright” brightness adjustment. The display also has an “Advanced No Touch Auto Adjust” mode that optimizes image quality on power on, so users don’t have to tweak it themselves if they don’t want to.
The LCD1980SX sports a native 1280 x 1024 resolution and up to 170 degrees of horizontal and vertical viewing. The monitor also includes a height-adjustable stand and can pivot, and it includes protective glass integration.
NEC-Mitsubishi expects the display to begin shipping at the end of March for a suggested retail price of US$999. The LCD1980SX will be available in either brushed aluminum or black cabinet options, and is covered by a three-year limited warranty and 24-hour tech support.
