Mac game publisher Aspyr Media today acknowledged that its Macintosh conversion of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is finally in duplication. It should be hitting store shelves any day now.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a 3D action adventure game based on the enormously popular book series (and movie series) created by children’s author J.K. Rowling, featuring young magician Harry Potter and his friends. Based on the book and motion picture of the same name, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets returns players to Harry’s world, where magic is all too real.
Harry and his friends explore the halls and grounds of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as they seek to find the mysterious Chamber of Secrets itself. Harry must master difficult second-year spells like Skurge, Diffindo and Spongify on his way to defeating Aragog and the Basilisk.
What’s more, players must also help Harry win at Quidditch — the fast-paced and challenging arena sports game for witches and wizards set in the skies over Hogwarts, on high-speed broomsticks, as well as Wizard Duels. Harry also gets to interact with new characters like Dobby the House-Elf, the pompous Professor Lockhart and Ginny Weasley, Ron’s younger sister.
System requirements for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets call for Mac OS 9.1 or higher (Mac OS X 10.1 or later as well), G3/350MHz or faster, 128MB RAM (256MB recommended for OS X), and ATI RAGE 128 with 16MB of video RAM or better. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets has a suggested retail price of US$39.99.
