Mark/Space Inc. has released The Missing Sync for Samsung, which adds Mac OS X support to Samsung’s Palm OS-based i330 cell phone. The software bundles together Palm Desktop 4.0 HotSync support, Mark/Space Mail e-mail client software, and an image viewer, SplashPhoto.
Mark/Space Mail provides POP3/SMTP e-mail support, and works with SMTP AUTH and APOP protocols too. You can filter e-mail based on headers or content, auto-delete spam, looking up addresses using the i330’s Address Book data, delete mail client and server-side, and much more. SplashPhoto is a third party product made by SplashData that enables you to view images, crop, rotate and enhance them (using desktop software), and more.
Mark/Space Inc. makes mobile and wireless products for Mac OS, Palm OS and PocketPC. The company offers Missing Sync editions for Sony Clié Palm OS-based handhelds, as well, along with “DataCord” data cables, paging software and other products.
The Missing Sync for Samsung costs US$29.95. System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.1.5 or higher, a Samsung i330 phone, Samsung USB Cradle or Cable, and Palm Desktop 4.0 (available as a free download from Palm Inc.’s Web site).
