Mariner Software has released Mariner Write 3.1, a new update to its Mac word processor. The release of 3.1 comes after a lengthy public beta test.
Most significantly, Mariner Write 3.1 now adds the ability to translate files produced with Microsoft Word. It does so by processing data in memory rather than reading from disk alone, which the developers say improves translation processing speed.
What’s more, Mariner Write adds improvements to headers and footers, footnotes, endnotes and table support. Bug fixes and performance enhancements have been made too.
Mariner Write 3.1 requires Mac OS 9.0 or higher, and runs natively in Mac OS X. The software is available for download from Mariner Software’s Web site, and costs US$69.95 for the electronic version, $79.95 for the boxed version.
