Abracode has updated Contextual Menu Workshop, the free framework for creating Contextual Menu plug-ins for Mac OS X, to version 1.4.
According to MacTech magazine, the update offers: code improvements and changes; a ProjectBuilder project for FileSampleCM, added instructions for building a new CM with ProjectBuilder; a QuickAccessSetup application with sources added; and more. Contextual Menu Workshop requires Mac OS X 10.1.2 or higher, CodeWarrior 7.2 or newer, Universal Interfaces 3.4.1 or newer, and ProjectBuilder.
Meanwhile, PreFab Software Inc. has updated UI Browser, the utility for assisting scripters in writing user interface scripts using Apple’s new “GUI Scripting” technology for AppleScript in Mac OS X 10.2.3 and higher.
The new version (1.1) adds the ability to use hot keys to take a snapshot of the user interface element currently under the mouse — even if the application is in the background. And the UI Browser’s Preferences panel now provides options to set each of the new hot keys to just about any key on your keyboard in combination with any standard modifier keys.
A free, 30-day trial version of UI Browser 1.1 is available now at the PreFab.com Web site. The company is also offering a special price on the product through April 19: $24.95 instead of the usual $39.95.
