Group Logic has announced that a new version of its MassTransit Enterprise software will be show off at next week’s Seybold Seminars in Boston. The software should be available in May.
MassTransit Enterprise has been developed to offer print media companies file transfer, remote proofing and remote workflow capabilities. The software utilizes TCP/IP networks to transfer digital files and proofs between locations. MassTransit Enterprise can be customized depending on the users and administrators’ needs, and provides logging, tracking and e-mail notification.
The new 4.0 version now sports a Web browser plug-in to enable drag-and-drop file transfer over the Web. Files transferred with the plug-in are automatically compressed and decompressed, maintain their folder and file integrity, and are fully cross-platform compatible. The Web client is designed to work on both Mac and Windows Netscape and Internet Explorer software.
MassTransit Enterprise 4.0 also sports bandwidth management to enable network admins to balance the load between digital file transfer and other network applications. The new version also supports logging with Java Database Connectivity (JDBC)-compatible database systems — billing, accounting, and shop floor management systems can all be interfaced.
Other new features include enhanced Internet security, firewall compatibility, XML integration and more.
MassTransit Enterprise can be seen in action during next week’s Seybold Seminars conference and trade show event at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Mass. The event runs from April 8-12.
