German Mac game publisher e.p.i.c. interactive entertainment today noted that its Macintosh conversion of Earth 2140 is now shipping.
Developed originally by TopWare Interactive, Earth 2140 is a real-time strategy game set in the far future, with two giant alliances — the Eurasian Dynasty and the United Civilized States — squaring off to battle for control of a war-ravaged planet.
Earth 2140 introduces the familiar elements of resource development and management, facilities building and troop creation and deployment. Players are in charge of all elements of making sure their troops and units have all the resources they need to wage an effective battle against the enemy. A playable demo is available for download from e.p.i.c’s Web site.
e.p.i.c. has previously released a Mac version of Simon the Sorcerer II, a graphical adventure game originally developed for the PC by Adventuresoft. The company also plans a Mac release of Gorky 17, an action/adventure game; Dafel: Bloodline, a role-playing game; and Knights and Merchants, a real-time strategy game set in medieval times.
e.p.i.c indicates that Earth 2140 requires a PowerPC Mac running at 180MHz or faster; Mac OS 8.6 – 9.1, and 32MB available RAM.
