Adobe Systems Inc. today announced two new product collections — the Adobe Streaming Media collection and the Adobe Digital Video Collection. Adobe indicated that the new bundles have been developed for streaming media and digital video professionals. Comprised of previously released Adobe software, each bundle offers tools useful to developing content for publication on the Web or for use in film, video, and multimedia.
The Adobe Streaming Media Collection includes Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Adobe LiveMotion and Adobe GoLive. Premiere provides digital video editing capabilities; After Effects provides motion graphics and visual effects capabilities; LiveMotion helps to create interactive Web page graphics and designs; and GoLive is a Web page authoring tool. The package supports Internet multimedia delivery standards QuickTime, Windows Media Player and RealPlayer.
Previously known as the Dynamic Media Collection, the Adobe Digital Video Collection is comprised of Adobe Premiere; Adobe After Effects; Adobe Photoshop, the company’s cornerstone image editing application; and Adobe Illustrator, the popular vector graphics tool. A Production Bundle is also available, which includes additional graphics and effects features.
The Streaming Media Collection carries an estimated street price of US$999. The Digital Video Collection is available for $1,199, and the Production Bundle costs $1,999. Adobe indicates that purchasing these products together as a collection saves users more than $1,000 over the cost of buying them separately. English, French, German and Japanese versions of each collection is scheduled to be available during the second quarter.
