James Walker has released a new update to PrintToPDF. The new version, 2.2.2, is ready for download from his Web site.
PrintToPDF enables users to produce Acrobat-readable PDF (portable document format) files. The software provides similar, albeit more limited, functionality as Adobe’s own full-blown Acrobat authoring software, at a lower price.
Version 2.2.2 incorporates the following changes:
When you open PrintToPDF’s Page Setup dialog after switching from some other driver, you’re no longer likely to see strange values like B5 at 400%.
Fixed a bug that could cause Carbon applications to think that there were zero copies to print.
Fixed a bug in making bookmarks when the resolution was not 72.
Fixed a bug that caused the Apple menu to disappear from Tex-Edit Plus after using the Fonts panel of PrintToPDF’s preferences dialog.
Improved handling of QuickTime-compressed pictures.
PrintToPDF is distributed as shareware; registration costs US$20. The author advises that PrintToPDF has been tested primarily with Mac OS 9, but should work with any version back to System 7.
