Support.com, a provider of support infrastructure software, plans to expand its ISP eSupport solutions to the Mac platform.
Support.com provides integrated support infrastructure software that enables digital businesses to support their extended enterprise of customers, partners, and employees. Their solution offers a Web-based platform that captures and leverages personalized information throughout a support transaction.
Support.com’s new SmartQualify and SmartVerify products for our favorite computing platform are designed to quickly allow ISPs to remotely query the systems of Mac users to determine if their systems meet the minimum requirements for broadband installation. And, once installed, verify if they have a successful connection.
Typically this process is slow and expensive for ISPs, since a trained technician has traditionally needed to visit the subscriber’s household, according to Bruce Mowery, senior vice president of marketing at Support.com. Using Support.com’s solution, broadband installation is streamlined, servicing costs are reduced, and subscribers get connected faster and with less frustration, he added. Support.com’s Macintosh offerings are intended for Mac OS 8.x and higher.
“With an average of 10 percent of a broadband provider’s customer base using Macintosh it is essential that all users are provided with a comparable level of service at installation, regardless of computer brand,” Mowery said in a statement.
Support.com’s expanded ISP eSupport solution for Macintosh users is due in the second quarter of the year. The company is aligned with such integrators and channel partners as Computer Sciences Corporation, GE Capital IT Solutions, IBM Global Services, IP GlobalNet, Perot Systems, Samsung SDS and Sitel.
