Electric Pocket has released new versions of their note-taking and messaging applications, BugMe! and BugMe! Messenger, both of which offer users of Palm OS devices more drawing and color options.
BugMe! lets users handwrite reminder notes or sketches directly on the screens of their Palm OS handhelds. It’s been upgraded to include new graphics tools and a new user interface, as well as improved color support. These same enhancements have been made to BugMe! Messenger, the company’s messaging application that enables users to e-mail handwritten BugMe! notes, images and digital photographs directly from their handheld devices.
“To make both applications even simpler to use, the company has designed a new user-friendly interface,” Electric Pocket spokesperson Kevin Doel told MacCental. “Among the requests for enhancements most often received from BugMe! users were for new graphics tools, including the ability to draw lines, circles, squares, as well as a host of new pen styles. These new tools, along with the ability to select, copy and paste graphics and text, make editing notes and preparing sketches and diagrams easier.”
As more and more users of Palm Powered devices are opting for color screens, Electric Pocket has improved color support for both BugMe! and BugMe! Messenger, he added. Of primary importance is the new color selection tool, which offers an easy way to create BugMe! notes in different colors, Doel said.
“Our latest enhancements put BugMe! even further out in front among Palm powered ‘stickie’ note-taking applications,” said Iain Barclay, co-founder and chief products officer of Electric Pocket Limited. “We also feel that these enhancements add significant power to BugMe! Messenger. They provide users with a great deal of flexibility in editing their notes and photos before sending them out to their friends or family.”
BugMe! can be used on any Palm OS device running on Palm OS 3.0 or greater. The application retails for US$19.95, but current owners can upgrade for free. BugMe! Messenger requires a Palm OS device with data capabilities, such as a fixed or wireless modem. The application retails for $39.95 and includes a free bugme.net e-mail address.
