If you’re an After Effects user but you occasionally need to import projects that were originally edited with an Avid system, you may be interested in a new product from newcomer Automatic Duck Inc.. The company has announced the first shipment of Automatic Composition Import.
Automatic Composition Import transfers the entire Avid system timeline into an After Effects 5.0 project, and imports the media needed to recreate a project. Supported Avid effects like dissolves, superimpositions, flops, motion effects and others are translated into their After Effects counterparts.
Automatic Composition Import carries a suggested retail price of US$495 and requires Adobe After Effects 5.0 for the Macintosh. A Windows version is currently in development, but won’t be available until later this spring.
