If you’d like to update your installation of Mac OS X to version 10.0.1 but you’ve been unable or unwilling to use the Software Update system preference built into X, you’re in luck. Apple has updated its Tech Info Library Web site with links to Mac OS X 10.0.1 downloads.
Apple indicates that the Mac OS X 10.0.1 update provides better support for third party USB devices, improved compatibility for Classic applications, and improved overall application stability. Mac OS X 10.0.1 also provides support for the open source Secure Shell service.
Separate downloads are available in localized languages including International English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Japanese. Apple’s Web page for these downloads also notes that you must have Software Update 1.3.1 installed prior to installing this update. More details are available from the Tech Info Library.
