If you need to convert text between Mac OS and Windows systems, you can do it with Medienwerkstatt Muehlacker’s free ASCon-A, which, as of the new version 2.0 X, supports Mac OS X.
“After having a Mac OS Classic-compatible version for about a year, and getting many requests for a Carbon version, we are very happy to release version 2 of ASCon-A with support for Apple’s new and modern Mac OS X,” said Peter Baral, founder and CEO of Medienwerkstatt Mühlacker.
System requirements for ASCon-A 2.0 for Mac OS X are a Power Mac running Mac OS X 10.0 or later. It also runs on Mac OS 8.6 or later with CarbonLib installed, according to MacTech magazine.
ASCon-A is available online under the “Tools” section of Medienwerkstatt Mühlacker’s German Web site. There’s a German version, as well.
