At this week’s NAB 2001 trade show in Las Vegas,
is introducing version 7.5 of its Media 100 i family of digital media creation systems for the Mac. According to Media 100, the new version sports a “lossless” video codec that maintains broadcast-quality video throughout the entire workflow.
“The lossless codec technology contains sophisticated algorithms, developed by Media 100, to provide the same high quality images as uncompressed digital video without compromising physical storage space on the disk drive or time needed for rendering video and effects,” explained the company in a statement.
Media 100 i has been developed to enable video producers, broadcast pros, streaming Internet media makers, and other people who need professional-level video editing capabilities on the Mac. The product enables you to edit video, process effects, and output content to a variety of formats, both broadcast and online.
The lossless codec is supported standard on the high-end Media 100 i7.5 XR system, which carries a price of US$17,995. It’s also a $4,000 option on the $9,995 XS system and the $5,995 LX system. The new version is available immediately.
Media 100 will be demonstrating the new Media 100 i7.5 systems on the
show floor this week at booth i6511.
