Movieworks, Interactive Solutions’ “multimedia software studio for the rest of us,” is being bundled with Eskape Labs’ USB interface products, “My View” and “My TV.” Movieworks enables Mac users to play the role of director by placing QuickTime-ready animation, multi-track sequencing and sound editing at their fingertips.
MovieWorks, which costs US$99, is a suite of applications that work together to create short to medium length multimedia productions, including Web movies, personal and corporate videos, dynamic slide shows, and multimedia presentations.
Included on the MovieWorks CD are five separate Mac applications that work together. MovieWorks is the main application and provides text editing, special effects, a timeline interface for sequencing media, and buttons to automatically launch the Animator, Sound, Video and Paint applications for media creation and editing.
A multimedia “scene” created in MovieWorks can include any number of text, picture, graphic, video, voice, music, VR, 3D, button and animation objects. Scenes are linked sequentially to other scenes or interactively using buttons, to comprise a MovieWorks project. Also included on the MovieWorks CD are over 300MB of royalty-free QuickTime movies, frames, backgrounds, buttons, pictures, music, MIDI, VR, animations and 3D files.
Eskape Labs’ MyView is a USB device that provides video mirroring of the Mac desktop on standard TVs, video monitors or video projectors from iBooks and iMacs that have no VGA connector nor video output. MyTV, about the size of a portable CD player, provides TV tuning and viewing on the Mac desktop, and also gives users the ability to capture full frame-rate video from any analog video source. System requirements include a G3 processor (or higher) with USB support, Mac OS 8.5.1 (or higher), and QuickTime 4.0 (or higher).
