Stairways Software has updated their enormously popular Internet application for the Macintosh, Interarchy, to version 4.1. 4.1 introduces support for Mac OS X.
Interarchy boasts an impressive array of features, including support for a variety of Internet protocols like FTP, Finger, and Whois. Users can also set up Interarchy to act as a daemon to run telnet, finger, identd, daytime, time, ntp, and various other services on their Macs.
Interarchy started life as another application called Anarchie, but Stairways later excised some less commonly used features and replaced them with other functionality. The version 4.1 archive combines the Mac OS 8/9 version and the Mac OS X version, along with some other utilities and software.
Interarchy itself is available for download as a shareware application. The software can be registered for US$35 per user. Site licenses and bulk discounts are available.
