If you’re interested in tracing your family tree but you’d like a Mac OS X-based application to do it with, you may be interested in the newest version of GEDitCOM. A beta version for Mac OS X is now in circulation.
GEDitCOM is a customizable genealogy application that utilizes GEDCOM genealogy files to help users trace their family history. Developed by John A. Nairn, the software is free to use as a GEDCOM file browser and is shareware if you plan on editing files with it.
The new version has been Carbonized, so it runs in Mac OS X, as well as Mac OS 8.6 – 9.1 (if CarbonLib is installed). The developer calls using the new version in Mac OS X a “much better experience” than trying to run 2.9.5 in Classic mode.
