According to Palm, the following changes have been made in Palm Desktop 2.6.3:
New HotSync 2.6.3 software
HotSync Manager supports Palm OS 4.0

Fix to Instant Palm Desktop
Please be advised that Palm, Inc. only recommends that users upgrade to the new 2.6.3 version if they’re using a new Palm OS 4.0-based PDA, such as the m500 or m505 units, or to get the Instant Palm Desktop fix.
