today announced that Ron Okamoto has taken the role of vice president of Developer Relations. In his new role, Okamoto will be reporting directly to Apple’s CEO, Steve Jobs.
“We are thrilled to have Ron leading our developer relations team. Ron’s firsthand experience at two successful Mac developers will help Apple to become an even better partner for our third party developers,” said Jobs.
Okamoto takes a position
, who left Apple in late March to take a job with One 2 One, a UK-based cellular communications company.
Prior to being hired by Apple, Okamoto was
vice president of product management and marketing for graphics products. At Adobe, Okamoto was responsible for the marketing and management of products like Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects. Prior to his tenure at Adobe, Okamoto was director of product marketing at Macromedia, Inc. Okamoto has a bachelors of science degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
