If you’re frustrated by the fact that the Gameday link on the Web sites of most, if not all major league baseball teams, favors the Wintel platform and don’t like the workarounds, MacCentral reader Rick O’Leary offers another solution. (The Gameday feature lets you catch a game in-progress online.)
“Baseball fans with Macs can still check on pitch by pitch progress of the games they’d like to follow,” O’Leary told MacCentral. “They just need to avoid the Major League Baseball site and head over to ESPN.”
He said if you go to the scoreboard URL, it will take you to the live scoreboard. Clicking on “gamecast” beneath any game will load the pitch by pitch coverage in a separate window.
If that doesn’ work, try this. Go to the ESPN Web site. Under the ESPN logo at the top of the page, on the left, are links that start with MLB. Click on the Scores link under MLB. That’s the initial page you want.
“No PC needed,” O’Leary said.
