Microtech International today announced a price drop on Microtech CameraMate, a digital media card reader.
The CameraMate is a USB-based media card reader that features a dual-slot design developed to accept both SmartMedia and CompactFlash cards — non-volatile memory cards used in a variety of digital camera models. It works both with Macs running Mac OS 9 and Windows-based PCs, and transfers data up to 1.2 MB/sec.
According to Microtech, the new suggested price of the USB CameraMate is US$49.99, a 44 percent price reduction from its previous suggested retail price. (The reader was still listed for $89 on Microtech’s Web site as MacCentral went to post this article.)
The card reader is available at retailers including CompUSA, MicroCenter, and The Good Guys, as well as catalog companies like PC Connection, Tiger Direct, MacWarehouse, Outpost.com and others.
