Apple’s new iBook made a special appearance yesterday at the Macintosh Business Expo in Portland, OR.
“Apple had the iBook on display to touch and use,” Mark Reschke, color specialist with IKON Office Solutions, told MacCentral. “The 500 MHz box is quite fast indeed. Very, very snappy for a laptop. It has the Cube plastics for sure, and is quite smaller in person than what you might imagine. The 1024 x 768 resolution looked very clean and crisp, as I was worried it would not appear too clean. I was happy I was wrong.”
He said there were crowds around the portable the entire show. The Macintosh Business Expo is an event sponsored by The Computer Store and Apple and held at the Oregon Convention Center.
Meanwhile, the first UK outing for the new iBook will be tonight at the Macworld (UK) Awards 2001. The awards celebrate the best Mac products of the past year. The winners will be announced at the ceremony, and tomorrow at Macworld Online, Macworld UK. You can check out a complete list of nominees at the Macworld Awards 2001 Web site.
