PolyVision Corp., a manufacturer and installer of visual communication products, has made their Webster TS Series Mac compatible.
In February, the company rolled out its Webster line of Interactive Products, a suite of visual technology products designed to offer communication solutions for the education and corporate markets, including interactive whiteboards and projection screens (TS and LT Series), Interactive Rear Projection Systems (IRP Series), and Interactive Plasma Display Systems (IPD Series). Since Macs are popular in the education arena, the company thought it prudent to make their products Apple savvy, according to Douglas Nash, vice president and general manager of interactive products for PolyVision Corp.
“At PolyVision, the educational market is very important to us, so we asked teachers what they needed to improve communication in the classroom from a technology standpoint,” he said in a statement. “It was evident from our research that Macintosh compatible software was needed for our Webster TS Series.”
It’s no longer “good enough to just offer software for Windows,” Peter Hildebrandt, director of product management, added. “Macintosh users are an important part of our future, and we intend to provide them with a full range of products.” he said.
The Webster Macintosh software is being included along with the Webster Windows software on the Version 2.2 CD-ROM, and will be shipped with all new TS Series whiteboards. An adapter that allows Macintosh users with USB ports to use the whiteboards is also available. Owners who currently have one of our interactive whiteboards can download the updated software by logging onto PolyVision’s Web site.
