The insTand worktable is a thin, laptop-size aluminum tray covered in a non-skid material to hold your laptop in place. It attaches quickly to a lightweight tripod and fits right into laptop case with the computer, according to J. Burns of insTand. The tripod can be adjusted with a single knob and folds umbrella-like.
All insTands include the tripod and a high-tech tray as described above. There are two models that include a leatherette carry bag.
Prices range from US$89.95 to $199.95. The company also makes a variety of accessories, including the SideKick (which lets you attach an additional tray to your tripod) and the MouserTray (for using a mouse with the tripod). Look for a hands-on test soon.
