Chaotic Software — the company behind such products as WebTimer, BitAssistant, MacArmy Knife, and MP3 Rage — has released EasyShare 1.2, which lets you share the contents of the clipboard and files with other computers on a home office network, company or education intranet, or the Internet.
With the update, EasyShare has been Carbonized to run natively on Mac OS X, according to Jason Giles of Chaotic. The app now runs on any PowerPC Macintosh using Mac OS 8, 9 or X.
“With EasyShare, you can simply specify the destination computers with which you would like to share clipboard contents and files, and then simple drag items or paste into the network clipboard window and they are quickly and easily transferred to the computer or computers you specified,” Giles said. “It’s great for sharing clipboard content in a classroom environment, company meetings, and even with friends and colleagues across the globe.”
He added that teachers could use EasyShare to send files to all clients in a classroom or lab simultaneously. This means there’s no need for the clients to log on to a central server to retrieve a file, as they can have it “sent” to them “without lifting a finger,” Giles added. Send Chaotic an e-mail to ask about educational discounts.
EasyShare is a US$20 shareware product. You can download it (a 612 KB file) at the Chaotic Web site.
