TECSoft announces new AppleScript training CD

TECSoft has a new interactive CD, “Workflow Automation with AppleScript Training CD,” that’s designed to teach AppleScript and how to create powerful software automation solutions. AppleScript is Apple’s English-like scripting language used to automate key tasks performed on a Mac.

TECSoft founder John Thorsen Jr. said the CD is the culmination of TECSoft’s extensive experience in AppleScript training and development. The CD is now available directly from TECSoft. Through June 15, it will sell for an introductory price of US$99; afterwards it will be $149.

“We’ve distilled our extensive hands-on training expertise into the CD-ROM version of our Workflow Automation with AppleScript training,” said Thorsen. “With TECSoft’s training CD you don’t have to be a programmer to get started and be productive with AppleScript. Along with teaching AppleScript fundamentals, the training also covers scripting FileMaker Pro, Canto Cumulus, QuarkXPress and the Finder.”

The CD reinforces AppleScript concepts with hands-on exercises that conclude with the user scripting real-world AppleScript automation solutions, he added. The CD also offers:

12 hours of training content;

26 QuickTime movies showing AppleScript demos, key concepts, and solutions to the training exercises;

13 hands-on exercises designed to reinforce learning;

Demos of real-world AppleScript automation solutions;

All required software, including run-time or trial versions of FileMaker Pro, Canto Cumulus, and QuarkXPress, as well as the scripts for the demos and exercises;
