Blue World Communications,
VH Publications, and
are sponsoring Lasso Summit 2001, to be held Aug. 10-11, at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn near Orlando, FL. In case you’re not familiar with the event, it’s the annual educational shindig for gleaning skills and info about Lasso products.
Blue World CEO Bill Doerrfeld will kick off the summit on Friday, Aug. 10, with a keynote address. He’ll be offering his vision for the future of the Lasso product line. As the “father” of Lasso, he’s been responsible for bringing the Lasso Web Data Engine and Lasso Studio products to market from concept to final release since 1996.
Lasso Summit 2001, an affiliate event to FileMaker DevCon 2001, will also include feature presentations by Lasso innovators and consultants. Peter Bethke will discuss “Structural Approaches to LDML,” including the Corral Method. Douglas Burchard will showcase tools for “Debugging Your Lasso Code.” Michael Collins will discuss how to enhance existing Lasso solutions with MySQL. Jim Van Heule will present “Is Your Site Really Secure?” covering the latest security techniques.
On the second day of the conference, attendees can choose from two hands-on Lasso training classes. ISO FileMaker Magazine Lasso columnist Kirk Bowman will present Intermediate Lasso Wizardry for attendees with limited Lasso experience or converting CDML solutions to LDML. Former Lasso product manager Jim Van Heule will present “Advanced Lasso Wizardry” for attendees who have developed with Lasso for a minimum of one year.
At the close of the Lasso Summit 2001, attendees will have a chance to ask questions directly to the Lasso Summit 2001 speakers and trainers. Peter Bethke, Kirk Bowman, Douglas Burchard, Michael Collins, and Jim Van Heule will participate in an open forum.
Registration for Lasso Summit 2001 is US$599. All attendees will receive a Lasso Summit Manual containing the complete contents of the feature presentations and hands-on training sessions. Attendees will also receive the Lasso Summit CD-ROM with solutions from the speakers and sponsors.
Breakfast and lunch on Aug. 10-11, 2001 are included for all attendees. Plus, on Friday, Aug. 10, from 5-7pm all attendees are invited to attend a reception hosted by Blue World, VH Publications, MightyData and the Lasso Summit 2001 sponsors. Registration is available immediately online at the
