Andrew Newmark, senior vice president of DYMO, said they print at twice the resolution and up to twice the speed of any comparable label printer on the market. He said they also sport a range of new and improved technical features to help maximize productivity in the workplace and streamline one-off or multi-contact mailings.
“As the only label printer that is currently compatible with Windows 95/98/NT4/2000/Me and Macintosh OS 8.6, 9 and 9.1 platforms, DYMO’s LabelWriter is the first to offer 300 dpi printing which, at twice the resolution of other label printers, creates sharper fonts, clearer logos, crisper barcodes and even photos,” Newmark said in a statement. “The DYMO LabelWriter remains the only label printer able to print onto labels up to 56mm (2.3 inches), giving users the choice of more than 40 different label sizes to meet their identification needs.”
The label printers offer USB and serial connectivity, internal auto-switching, and a shrink-to-fit text capability. The LabelWriter 300 and Turbo models are also fully supported by Stamps.com and Inditia.com.
The LabelWriters are seven-inches high, four-inches wide, and five-inches deep. They have direct thermal print technology, that Newmark said eliminates the need to replace ribbons, toner or ink cartridges. Each LabelWriter is packaged with DYMO’s proprietary software that incorporates a built-in database that integrates with most popular database programs, and also offers such capabilities as specification of data fields for printing and saving labels for instant recall.
The LabelWriter software also includes more than 40 pre-designed label templates and an option for users to design their own. A free Software Developer Kit (SDK) is also included so programmers can add label-printing features to any OLE or DDE enabled application.
The DYMO LabelWriter printers are a combination of metallic silver and one of three different base colors according to model — black for the 300, blue for the 330, and red for the 330 Turbo. For more info go to the DYMO Web site.
