Apple’s upcoming retail store in Columbus, OH, will open in the upscale Easton Town Center on the Northeast Side. Stores in Easton Town Center’s northern expansion phase are expected to begin opening in August, according to the Columbus Dispatch .
The newspaper said that Apple would maintain a full inventory at its stores, unlike Gateway, which takes orders at its stores and then delivers the computers to the customers. The mall is home to such stores as Abercrombie & Fitch, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, the Gap, J. Crew, and Pacific Sunwear.
Easton Town Center is located at I-270 and Easton Way in the northeast quadrant of Columbus. The center opened to the public in June 1999 and was co-developed by Steiner + Associates, The Georgetown Company, The Limited and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger. The center is currently under expansion to nearly double its square footage, which will be anchored by Nordstrom and Lazarus department stores. The Fashion District is projected to open in summer 2001. (Thanks to MacCentral reader Phil Raynes for the heads-up on this one.)
