Just as the upcoming Apple retail store in Dallas, Texas will be located in a new mall, so will the one in Tampa, Florida. The store will be in the Tampa International Mall, which will be right next to the Tampa International Airport, MacCentral reader Peter Apockotos said.
The new mall is being built to replace Tampa Bay Center Mall; half of that property is going to the Bucs stadium parking and the other half to St. Joseph’s Hospital.
To open Sept. 14, the Tampa International Mall will supposedly be the only center in western Florida to feature Neiman Marcus, Lord & Taylor, Dillard’s and Nordstrom. It will have four anchor department stores and over 200 specialty retailers.
The Tampa store is one of 25 Apple retail stores set to open during 2001.
