If you’re a Mac user in the restaurant business, you may want to check out
ProZk restaurant software for touchscreen iMacs.
“We offer a complete software and hardware solution for restaurants, coffee and juice bars, cafeterias and any other retail food operation,” Karl Rueby, vice president of ProBe told MacCentral. “ProBe is a retail/inventory POS system that will run on any Mac, and is used with a barcode scanner. Our system is in use in the US and Australia, and we have a small but happy client base.”
He describes ProBe as “a practical approach to controlling your business using Macs.” When designing the software, ProBe concentrated on the need to set up and maintain a comprehensive set of financial records for your business transactions, according to Kueby. These records serve several purposes: to track the flow of money through a business; to monitor and control all inventory and customer transactions; and to provide the basis for general ledger entry.
ProZk Point of Sale software is designed for use with touchcreen Macs. No keyboard, no mouse, just a screen. Functions are controlled by touching the button area on the screen. Orders can be printed from up to seven locations in, say, the kitchen or bar; receipts are printed to a receipt printer; a cash drawer accepts all payments; and Menu changes can be made via a separate layout screen. All inventory, sales and report data is handled in the same seamless manner as in the ProBe software, Kueby said.
