MightyWords has announced the release of The New York Times Pocket MBA Series. It’s a twelve-volume reference series distributed online through leading e-commerce sites like Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble.com, Desaware.com, Fatbrain, internet.com, and WirelessAdvisor.com. Each volume is available for download and print, and is compatible with Windows, Mac OS, Unix and Linux.
The series addresses issues important to business managers and executives, including financial statement analysis, sales and marketing, business organization, budget forecasting, leadership and vision, and business planning. MightyWords said the series was penned by professors from graduate business programs across the country, and was edited by Business Day editors from the New York Times.
MightyWords leverages Adobe’s portable document format — PDF — but its products aren’t “e-books” specifically. MightyWords calls its content eMatter — typically between 10 and 100 pages. eMatter, said MightyWords, is longer than a magazine article but shorter than a book. The New York Times Pocket MBA Series joins more than 5,000 other MightyWords titles now in distribution.
MightyWords specializes in bringing to market material that has been unavailable to the general public up until now, either because its length or its subject matter isn’t something that traditional publishers would distribute.
