MacUnicorn Software has released what CEO John Monemi calls a “major update” of Forest, a program that plays soothing and relaxing nature sounds. Version 2.0 runs on Mac OS 8, OS 9, and Mac OS X. It also adds stereo sound support and other new features.
Forest 2.0 costs US$8.95; the upgrade is free for 1.x customers. Customers of Relax, a competing product, can get Forest for $4.95. More info and downloads can be found at the Mac Unicorn Web site.
A demo version is bundled with six free worlds to play with. Once you’ve registered the product, you can get the full version, which comes with 15 worlds. People who feel creative can make their own worlds for free with the World Builder tool.
