Aladdin Systems, Inc. today announced a new plan that simplifies the way companies can volume-license its popular StuffIt compression software for mixed computing environments. It’s called the StuffIt OneSource Volume Licensing Program.
Aladdin senior marketing manager David Pearce said that the OneSource program is the result of customer demand.
“The program aims to cost-effectively deliver cross-platform compression solutions. With StuffIt OneSource users get one technology from one vendor for a multitude of platforms,” said Pearce.
Pearce added that the new program is ideal for schools and medium to large-sized businesses. Qualification for the OneSource program requires a minimum order of 100 seats.
Up until now, said Aladdin, IT managers have had to purchase separate multiuser licenses for their Aladdin utilities depending upon which platform the software will run. Aladdin tools different versions of StuffIt for Windows, Mac OS, Linux, and Solaris. Now organizations can just simply purchase a volume StuffIt license that covers a number of users regardless of platform.
