Apple will release Mac OS X in Portuguese at Fenasoft 2001 in São Paulo, according to Rodrigo Pellicciari, product manager from Apple Brazil. The Fenasoft technology expo runs from July 30 to Aug. 4.
“The suggested price remains the same as previously announced: approximately R$300 (US$127),” Rogério Taira of MacNews Brasil told MacCentral.
The impending release continues the fast track schedule of the next generation operating system. At the recent Apple World Wide Developer Conference, Apple announced that it will begin pre-installing Mac OS X alongside Mac OS 9 on all new Macs, two months ahead of schedule.
Meanwhile, Pellicciari also said that the new iBook would be available in Brazil within 30 days. All configurations will be available; however the suggested price wasn’t divulged, Taira said.
