Apple holds an annual Apple Design Awards event during its Worldwide Developers Conference. This year Apple presented four awards, and two of them went to the Omni Group.
The Omni Group accepted the awards for Best New Mac OS X Product and Best Mac OS X User Experience. Both awards were given for the Omni Group’s efforts with its Mac OS X-native Web browser, OmniWeb 4.0.
OmniWeb 4 is a Web browser developed using Cocoa. As a result, it’s entirely Mac OS X-native. To win its awards, the software was rated by a team of Apple engineers and designers who judged various criteria ranging from ease of use to use of Mac OS X technologies to overall innovation.
Other winners of Apple’s awards this year were Xtools 1.0.3 from Tenon Intersystems for Most Innovative Mac OS X Product; and AutoCompleter 1.0 from Catchy Software, winning for Best Mac OS X Technology Adoption.
